HAPPY 6TH OF JULY!!!!

Well, if you're reading this, then it means you didn't blow your eyes off with fireworks. And you typed the URL to get here, so hopefully you still have 20 digits on your hands and toes. If you had more to begin with, I don't wanto to know about it...

On Saturday we headed up for the day to Enchanted Forest to get away from Utica and have some waterpark fun. Cameron came with us, and we were glad he's moving out of a paternally embedded fear of water and had some fun. Amber also came with us, and it was really our first time doing something like this together. I was very glad she came.

Sunday was very busy, as we had to get Cam ready to head off to said paternal territory, then we were off to a cookout held by one of Kelly's co-workers. She began picking on me by the end of the party, as I once again proved to her that anywhere I go I can:

A) Find someone who has thought up their Zombie Apocalypse Evacuation Plan.

B) Find someone who watches "Doctor Who".

And C) Have a conversation about comic books with someone there.

That night, we went to visit an old dear friend and her even dearer family in Clinton. Kim is up home from North Carolina with her husband and my unofficially adopted "nephew". So we joined them for an evening of parading and 4th of July workings of the fire. I was amazed to see no marching bands in the parade, and even more shocked to see public figures running for office handing out their propaganda while marching down the street. One guy was actually giving out lawn signs to people for his election bid.

Oh, and at Kim's, the above B and C took place. Never fails...

Yesterday, we headed over to the Brewery to join Kim, Ken, and Stephen for the tour. Kelly has lived in this town for over 3 decades and NEVER been on the tour! And I'm giving serious thoughts to hosting an intervention for Kim. :-P

I hope everyone else out there had as enjoyable a weekend as I did. Good friends. Good Family. Ate too much. Drank too much. But can never laugh with the people I care about too much.
